Below are the AMSOIL oil and filter recommendations for your 2015 BMW X1 with the 2.0L 4-Cylinder.
2015 BMW X1 2.0L 4-CYLINDER ENGINE CODE N20B20A D
BMW's F30 generation 3 Series ran from 2012 through 2018, and the X1 was the volume seller of the lineup. The 2.0L TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder in your 2015 model is the N20B20A, good for 240 horsepower and 255 lb-ft of torque. It pairs with the ZF 8-speed automatic, and the combination is quick, smooth, and easy on fuel for a luxury sedan.
The N20 uses a twin-scroll turbocharger, direct injection, and Valvetronic variable valve lift. That is a lot of technology packed into a small engine, and it is exactly why the oil you use matters. Turbos put heat into the oil, direct injection puts soot and fuel into it, and the valve gear needs a stable oil film to stay quiet and precise. BMW owners who run a quality full synthetic and stick to reasonable intervals tend to see the N20 stay strong well past 100,000 miles.
One thing worth knowing about the X1: BMW updated the oil recommendation for this engine to 0W-20 (Service Information Bulletin 11 01 21 supersedes the earlier 0W-30 and 5W-30 guidance). The 0W-20 grade delivers the fuel economy BMW engineers designed this engine around, and AMSOIL's European formula is built for exactly this kind of application.
The 2015 BMW X1 2.0L 4-Cylinder requires 0W-20 full synthetic motor oil. Capacity is 5.8 quarts including filter.
Here is what you need:
You need 5.8 quarts of AMSOIL 0W-20 LS 100% Synthetic European Motor Oil AFEQT-EA which you can learn more about here: AMSOIL 0W-20 European motor oil
You need the AMSOIL nano fiber long life oil filter for your X1 which is: EA15K54
Drain Plug Torque Spec: 6 ft/lbs - the N20 uses a plastic latch-style drain plug, so go easy with the wrench and replace the plug seal if it shows any wear.
