What Oil Analysis Detects

Used oil analysis measures the wear metals, contaminants, and additive levels in your engine oil. The results tell you exactly what is happening inside your engine without taking anything apart. The test measures iron, chromium, lead, copper, tin, aluminum, and other wear metals that come from specific engine components. Iron comes from cylinder walls and the valvetrain.
