Three MPG Increase

I installed 5W30 Signature in my Tahoe last May. Through this May I completed 10,000 miles including through a winter here in Northern Michigan. The shop I use was touting another oil and warned me that no oil could be used all winter in multiple cold or very cold start conditions and last through the whole winter. Well, I had the oil tested after a year and even in this harsh environment, the oil still had 3,000 to 5,000 miles of life left. Kudos to the product. Yes the Tahoe does use some oil--maybe 3 quarts total over that period, but it did amaze me that the oil held up and was still good after a year. Fuel economy on a road trip to Rochester, MN with a change of trans fluid to Amsoil synthetic showed an increase in mileage from about 19 to a solid 21-22 MPG. Fluids are the only change and this vehicle is otherwise a gas hog.

Doubled the Lifespan of My Vehicles

I've retired 2 Ford E-350 vans, gasoline engines, both with 520,000 plus miles. I'm currently driving a third one, with 524,000. PROOF #1 If you want to prevent metal to metal contact in your engine then AMSOIL does it the best and here is proof...

The" four ball wear test" is a great way to separate the men from the boys. This is where the lab will press and spin a metal ball down into three other balls arranged in a triangle.

The better the oil protects the less damage that happens.

This is similar to a lot of the areas in your engine where there is a metal to metal interface like between a pushrod and a cam shaft or a piston ring and a piston wall.

The lab does this in a bath of the oil they are testing. The smaller the wear scar the smaller the number the better the protection is. So let's have a look at the chart:

As you can see all the way to the left on the chart AMSOIL with the smallest wear scar at 0.35. This is telling us that AMSOIL does a better job of preventing your cam shaft from scoring and your rod bearings from scrapping themselves.
